Emily

Standard

Someday i’ll swim to the ocean’s face

and there find seaweed of lace

and of it make sari for Emily’s waist

as she dances the epitome of grace

And the Earth feels at peace as her bare feet kiss her face,

dancing the mezdeke of hope and release
Her arms wreathed in ivory reflect the light of the moon

and her eyes flecked with gold in the glory of the noon.

My Emily, my egyptian rose,

walks the camel’s stride

the goddess is radiant with pride as her gentle daughter over sand does glide
